I used to track my net worth automatically with Personal Capital which was great. But I found I wasn’t really getting much from it (and they also couldn’t link to a few of my student loan companies) so I started tracking it manually on a spreadsheet.

It has made all the difference in the world. I take some time once a month to enter all the values and I can really get a good picture of where I stand. And following it month to month is fun also. It’s about the only financial task I prefer to do manually!

Maybe someday when we’ve got them closer to being paid off we will track our net worth.
