Survey Junkie Review: How It Works
As we mentioned already, Survey Junkie is an online platform that connects users with an array of surveys from popular brands and service providers. Signing up and getting started with Survey Junkie is absolutely free. You can also do all your “work” on a desktop computer, your phone, or both.
Online Surveys
If you have some free time to spare and you want to earn some easy money, taking online surveys could be ideal. There is a low barrier to entry to get started, and almost everyone is eligible for some surveys based on the information they include in their profile.
Pay is fairly low at approximately $0.50 to $3 for each survey completed, yet many questionnaires take 20 minutes or less, and they’re rarely difficult or stressful. Also, be aware that some surveys pay more in “points” than others. Most surveys that are currently available are worth between 80 and 150 points, and each point is worth one cent.
To sign up with Survey Junkie, all you have to do is hit “Join Now” on the website homepage.
From there, you can begin your application via a Google or Facebook account and by offering additional information like your zip code, your date of birth, and your gender. Once you create an account, you’ll begin filling out your profile by answering questions about yourself.
As you start the process, plan to answer questions about your:
- Living Situation
- Income
- Shopping Habits
- Pets
- Level of Education
Note
Unique Features
The products and services offered by Survey Junkie are not complicated at all. Creating an account is free, and you’re rewarded with points for taking surveys you’re eligible for. Once you have at least $5 in rewards built up, you can redeem them for PayPal cash or gift cards.
Interesting features you should know about before you sign up include:
- More Points via Survey Junkie Pulse App: Downloading the app or adding the browser extension to your device helps you earn more rewards points. It also increases the number of surveys you’re eligible for.
- Earn Points for Extra Tasks: For example, Survey Junkie is offering extra points right now for answering additional profile questions.
- Use Your Influence: While you’ll get paid for answering basic questions, the information you provide to Survey Junkie is actually used to influence brands you love. This platform does reimburse you for your time, but you also get to help shape the products and services of the future.
Is Survey Junkie Legit?
At this point, you’re probably wondering if Survey Junkie is even legit. After all, it seems strange that a company would pay you for answering simple questions, even in small amounts.
The good news is Survey Junkie is a legitimate company that’s earned the trust of millions of customers. In fact, the platform currently has an average star rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars across nearly 40,000 user reviews on Trustpilot.
The company has also been accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) since 2017, and it boasts a “B” rating on that platform as well. Reviewers who wrote about the company on the BBB also gave Survey Junkie an average star rating of 4.19 out of 5 stars, which is very good considering the source.
That all being said, you should know that Survey Junkie does have its share of good and bad reviews. For example, some users have complained about taking surveys but never earning much money at all. Or, they complain about getting started on surveys only to find they don’t actually qualify.
Here are a few examples of past Survey Junkie users who haven’t had the best experience.
From Trustpilot:
From the Better Business Bureau:
Of course, a company with so many good reviews is going to have mostly positive user experiences. While there are some negative reviews found on the web, the fact is that most Survey Junkie users are really happy with their experience.
In fact, there are numerous Reddit threads where users share tips and tricks for earning more money through surveys. Here are a few examples from Reddit users who are happy with Survey Junkie and their earnings:
There are also many glowing reviews elsewhere for Survey Junkie. In fact, 67% of the user reviews on Trustpilot are five stars or “excellent”, 19% of reviews are four stars or “great,” and another 8% are three stars or “average.” This means that, across more than 40,000 user reviews, only 6% of users rated Survey Junkie “poor” or “bad.”

Earning Potential With Survey Junkie
Will you actually earn a lot of money with Survey Junkie? Probably not. However, some users say the effort can be worth it if you just want some fun money to spend on whatever you want.
At the end of the day, how much you earn really depends on the surveys you qualify for and how much time you invest in the process.
In her YouTube video, Justine says she ultimately completed 26 surveys in 103 minutes to earn 341 points worth $3.41. That’s not even close to minimum wage, she says, but it can still be worth it if you have some free time to kill and you don’t mind clicking around on your phone for a while.
In another YouTube video, someone named Your Driver Mike spent three hours doing surveys to earn 603 points worth $6.03. That’s just over $2 an hour, which is not that great but potentially better than nothing.
In both of these examples, earnings came in significantly below what someone can earn in a part-time job. That said, you can complete surveys with the platform on your phone and during your spare time, so it’s not like a regular J-O-B. Online surveys are more of an easy side hustle than anything else, so don’t expect to get rich with this money-making opportunity.
How to Earn Points
When you sign up for Survey Junkie, you’ll be asked an array of questions that help you describe the type of person or shopper you are. These include questions on your hobbies and activities, as well as your household income.
Once your account is set up, you’ll be shown an array of surveys you can qualify for, with varying levels of points assigned to each. Fortunately, each survey you take clearly displays how many points you can earn, so you can decide if it’s worth it. Most surveys also have an estimated time for completion listed, which is another metric you can use to decide which surveys to take.
Earning points is as easy as clicking on “Take Survey” and getting started. Once a survey is complete, you’ll be awarded the points you were promised to your account.
Notice
SJ Pulse Program
One popular way to boost your earnings with Survey Junkie is through the SJ Pulse Program, which is for “people who passively share their digital behaviors for market research purposes.”
Basically, this program requires you to install software on your computer or phone that tracks your activities. Once you opt-in, the SJ Pulse Program will track the websites you visit, the online purchases you make, the apps you use, the advertisements you view, and more.
This program lets you earn rewards passively and without taking surveys, although you can use it in addition to taking surveys for profit. And just like with surveys, points you earn through the SJ Pulse Program are redeemable for cash back via PayPal, a wire transfer, a check, or a gift card.
Is Survey Junkie Safe to Use?
Before you start taking surveys online, you’re probably wondering if this platform is safe. First off, you should know that Survey Junkie does have an SSL certificate. This means the website is secure and safe to use.
Survey Junkie also offers a clear privacy policy that explains how they use and protect your data, as well as various other terms.
How to Contact Survey Junkie
Also, note that the company has various contact options you can use if you have an issue with the site. For example, they have an email contact form you can fill out on their website.
Consumers can also contact the company at the following customer service number: (949) 743-3217.
Who Survey Junkie Is Best For
Getting paid to answer questions may sound too good to be true, yet Survey Junkie is as legitimate as they come.
Still, it’s important to remember that you won’t get rich taking surveys on Survey Junkie. This option is best for:
- Busy people who want to earn gift cards or PayPal cash in their spare time
- Anyone who has several hours to kill a few times per week, such as during their child’s sports practices or piano lessons
- Parents who are building up rewards they can use for Christmas gifts or birthday presents
- People who want to do something mindless while they watch television or relax
Quite a few of their surveys pay as little as $0.50, and you may only be eligible for $10 or less in surveys in any given week. When you’re taking surveys on the lower end of the pay scale, you might only be making $1 to $4 an hour, which isn’t much at all.
As a result, Survey Junkie is more of a “side hustle” and less of a way to pay your bills. Since you may not be eligible for every survey, it’s also a poor choice for people who need reliable side income.
Survey Junkie vs. Other Survey Sites
You’re probably aware that several companies do exactly what Survey Junkie does. However, not all survey sites work the same, so make sure to check out a few other platforms if you only plan to use one:
What You Should Know About Online Surveys
Taking online surveys can make sense if you have free time to burn, but what else should you know about this industry? Here are a few important factors to keep in mind as you explore the world of online survey sites:
- Earn More Rewards by Using More Than One Platform: Since some survey sites limit the number of surveys you can take each month, many people sign up for multiple platforms and use them all. Also note that some Survey Junkie competitors also offer rewards for watching videos, playing games, or shopping online.
- Surveys Are Important to Major Brands: Surveys offered on sites like Survey Junkie are important marketing tools that provide crucial information companies need. The answers given within consumer surveys help brands customize their products or services to real people like you.
The Bottom Line – Is Survey Junkie Legit?
Survey Junkie is a free platform that lets users answer questions in exchange for PayPal cash or gift cards. You won’t earn a ton of money for the time you put in, but this platform makes it easy to build up a stash of rewards you can use to pay for splurges or even everyday bills.
Since there are a lot of online survey sites that offer cash, however, you should compare the top options before you sign up. In the meantime, read about other smart ways to earn money at home.

Survey Junkie Review
Overall
How do I sign up on Survey junkie because every time I try to do so or click on their website I get a pop up that says ‘ Error site not found’
I received a check for $1900 from Jimmy Warren at Survey Junkie, to do a mystery shopping credit card purchase job. Why would survey junkie just send me a check -for $1900? Rhoughts? Scam, real?
Like so many others commenting, I am in the need-to-be-verified loop at Survey Junkie. I have 1180 points, so enough to cash out. Of course, when I tried to, I got the “you need to be verified” pop up. I have gotten in the phone queue every day for the last week. What a SCAM this outfit is!! They lead you along on surveys where they promise you 75 points! You spend 10 minutes answering questions only to find out “Sorry. You didn’t qualify for this one.” WHAT??? You just got dozens of answers from me for a giant 3 cents! Oh, thanks, Survey Junkie! I have signed up for many survey sites and this is the ONLY one that has not paid as they say they would. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS SITE!! I will, however, try reporting them to the BBB to see if I can get my money and then never use their site again.
What a bummer!
30/1/2021
I’m in Melbourne, Australia, I to am going around the merry-go-round of having ‘to be verified’. I’m owed 2290 ($22.90) so not much.
Is Survey Junkie based in the USA? can somebody tell me?
After reading the positive and negative, I rather think ‘ Survey’ is a scam.
Thanks for reading.
I, too, have been led down the rosy road of Survey Junkie. I do not advise anyone to take a “trip” with them. The are a poor business outfit, they do not respond well, if at all to one’s reported issues. It got the ole “one-two-three” treatment and the ole “we need to verify” crap and was told it was “repaired”. A Bunch of lies, for here i am a month later and i am still unable to do surveys and they will NOT answer any questions or make an attempt to
Since October I’ve made over $230 on survey Junkie I’ve had no problems uploading my money either to Amazon or PayPal most survey sites if you get disqualified pay you nothing so 2 to 3 cents adds up I just took a survey yesterday and got paid $40 for a 15 minute survey plus got 6 months of free to tobacco products on a study that they are doing which consists of four more surveys and forty dollars a pop so to say that this is a scam you are a lion straight up because it most certainly is not. The only other one that pays out good is Qmee but if you get disqualified on that you don’t get two or three cents. I swear by survey Junkie it’s a good site and you’ll be foolish if you don’t keep with it
I’ve been with SurveyJunkie for a couple of months now. My experience has been mostly positive. It does get annoying the amount of surveys I don’t qualify for, but if I’m patient I can usually answer a few a day successfully. I’ve cashed out a couple of times now. The one thing that annoys me the most is when I’m suddenly told I’ve been disqualified from a survey for breaking certain rules, like being honest, etc. I’ve never broken any rules so I wonder if this is just an excuse to kick me out of the survey for not fitting the demographic. It just bugs me to be accused of something I hadn’t done. Apart from that it’s not too bad.
You’re definitely one of the partners in scamming people..hmmm! Na dem ooooo
I find Survey Junkie to be very legit. I’ve made over $200 now over the course of a year. I disagree that most surveys are $1 – $3. Most are 20 cents to 35 cents. You get accepted about 20% of the time. If I can make a dollar a day I’m doing good. It’s worth it if you have about 5 times a day you can sit for 15 minutes and do a survey.
Co scammers commenting
I’ve been doing survey junkie for Alitte over 2 months now and i am satisfied, certain days i can make up to 8 to 9 dollars a day and then there are days i make 40 cents -1.00 a day .its frustrating sometimes when i put a crap load of info in and it leads me back to square one saying im not eligible for that one but most of them give you 3 cents also when you answer 2 questions. I have earned over 50 dollars so far and im not overwhelmed by the work ive done . Most the ones i try and do are under 10 minutes because i can’t sit that long and my eyes start bugging me. But if you have Alitte patience and time i would say this survey junkie site is for you. My money almost always immediately goes in
I get EXACTLY 1 survey per day always for .50. 9/10 are screen-outs. Approx 50% of those screen-outs I received .2 or .3. Then when I finally reach enough for a payout Survey Junkie puts you thru the hoops for your $$ that you MIGHT get after 30-45 days but ONLY IF YOU ARE PERSISENT !! Other than that it is a great site LOL !!
They won’t pay me saying I need to be verified. When I was verified by a phone call they said I’m all set and won’t need to be verified again. Now they won’t pay and say I need to be verified. They don’t answer my emails. Why are they doing this? Oh wait… to scam users out of earnings
I went to redeem my points and said they needed to verify me. I have been waiting now for two days to be verified and nothing has happened
I tried to redeem 4,000 survey points for $40 of Amazon e-cards. Instead of sending a redemption code, survey junkie froze my account. No reason was given. This seems to be a common practice of survey junkie and there are many non-payment complaints on file with the San Jose, CA better business bureau. Tomorrow I will also be filing a complaint with the California Attorney General’s office. An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. Never sign up with this company.
Where are you I haven.t seen you online lately?. Are you now doing surveys>Ii was only a few points from the second completion of the amounts?
Is there anyway to unclose an account from Survey Junkie.
I want manny
I got to almost $10 and this started happened. In currently at $9.98. No more surveys and the ones that slip through the cracks get an uh oh or pending confirmation.
After answering enough surveys to acquire 1300 points… I attempted to redeem my points. They refused to redeem my points and was told I had to contact them. I was told… that they believed I was not forthright in my answers? WHAT? I spent hours…. taking surveys… and giving honest answers. So…THEY decided not to compensate me for my time! This is INDEED a scam. I have done surveys for years… EVEN for Nielsen… one of the most respected in the market. This was incredibly ridiculous. DO not waste your time on SurveyJunkie… you will regret it.
Survey junkie is a Scam, they are like drug dealers, they will lead you on for a while, but just when you start making money they will freeze you out and never pay you. They will make one excuse after another, tell you they have to call you and they never will. The only way you get any response from them is to make an online report to The Better Business Bureau. Which I did, they then reinstated my account and paid me, then they did it again and said I broke the rules, there were no rules broken, just an excuse they use. They will ask ridiculous questions like “”I DON”T KNOW” really?????
OH BS don’t discourage people because you had a bad experience you obviously did something wrong
Survey junkie is an absolute dumpster fire when it comes to customer service. I have been given the run around for almost 2 months telling me I have to verify recent activity in order to cash out points. they never call you and always say they are experiencing high volumes. they are a joke and to be avoided unless you like wasting your time
I have been with them a few months and leaving because of their lack of honesty and transparency. There have been a number of times I qualify for a survey, I receive the message of congratulations message that I have earned the points, after spending the time required to finish the survey, then I don’t receive the credit. I have asked a few times why, and there’s a different excuse every time. I understand if you don’t qualify, you don’t get to finish the survey, you don’t get the points. But if the survey is completed and you are given the credit message, why don’t you get the reward. I believe they limit your ability to earn in many sneaky ways. It is a shame.
Looks realy great! Thanks for the post.
Tell me how you make $50 in one week?? That seems dishonest. I have been on for months, no such opportunities.
Yes, Survey Junkie is not all that great. At first they lure you in, then you find they limit the big surveys, they say you didn’t complete it, or you completed it too fast, or it’s being reviewed, and then they limit your access to surveys, and even the website. So, not transparent or an honest site to do surveys and earn points. Try others.
Beware this is a hoax!!! Never got. My gift card. No telephone number to call and no response from emails! Beware!
I cashed out $10.00 for an amazon gift card never got it. Sent several inquiries via emails and never got a response. This is a farce. I’m going to find out who to report this to. I will also give them a very negative review on all of the apps that I can find. There is no number to call what does that tell you????
Survey Junkie has had my account frozen for two weeks, I have $15 accumulated that I can’t redeem, I’m going to go ahead and call it a scam.
I am disappointed and frustrated with this company. It started out OK, I was doing surveys and collecting points. Then the points stopped coming. It seems like they will let you get to a certain point and then stop awarding points. SInce February 20 I have done 24 surveys and did not receive any points for them. The surveys amounted to 343 points and I have received none. My point history says pending for all of those surveys. I contacted support who said that I would receive a call in 7 days. That did not happen. I even gave them my phone number so they can’t say they don’t have it. I tried to redeem the points that I did have and it said that I had to contact the support people. I will not do another survey for this company.
Yes you can earn points; However, you can never cash them. I cashed out on Monday. It is now Thursday. According to there website they have to call you first. They called Tuesday at 7:55. They left a message saying they would call me back. They never did. You can’t call them. They don’t take incoming calls.
DON’T DO IT!!! Survey Junkie will keep (steal) monies with are legally due and owing to you. Claiming that you have violated their terms. However, Survey Junkie doesn’t uphold their own terms. Surveys do not complete nor pay. They enjoy to find reason not to pay. Just another scam artist.
I have been with survey junkie for months but went to log on the evening and it says I am blocked. I have no idea why. to my knowledge I haven’t done anything wrong or different than I’ve been doing. I always try to be completely honest on my surveys. I can’t find a phone number to call and ask them what the problem is. I would appreciate any help in the problem. Thanking you sincerely, Oma Griffey
I read what you wrote and some things i agree and others i do not. I have been promised a call from customer support for over a month now and have not received a call yet about my redemption of funds.
It’s not a good look on survey junkie at all. Lies after lies is not a good way to do business or misleading people for business purposes. Actually it’s illegal. From what i read it seems either you work for them or they have never got over on you. The world needs to know the complete truth.
A common complaint. After a few “cash ins” the site tells you to contact customer service, because your account must be verified. When you do so, you get an auto reply saying you will be called in 5 to 7 business days. No matter how many times you email, the call never comes. My advise, keep cashing in until you hit that roadblock, then quit.
This Survey Junkie is the biggest ripoff since the Lindbergh baby heist! You can join if you like but these people will never pay you and they have no way to contact them or call them to get your promised money! They need to be put in their place and maybe in jail for running a theft ring! They really are a ripoff! I have been on the site for years and I remain there for a time so that I could write this opinionated piece so that those who take time to read this will know that I know what I’m talking about! For almost a year. I went back and forth with the customer support fraud. The promise that due to such high volume of stealing your promised pay. It will take 5 to 7 days for them to get their money so they can put it all in their pockets so you can write another attempt to get a gift card or have the money put in your bank account! “IT WON’T EVER HAPPEN FOLKS!” They are a scam from HELL! The word needs to get out there! “STAY AWAY FROM SURVEY JUNKIE!” There needs to be an inquiry into there business practices and soon, there will be some arrests from the information and evidence compiled from their scam! Stay tuned folks this might get ugly but the right people will get what they’ve got coming! I for one witnessed an old woman trying to get her money from survey junkie ripoff artists! “And died trying!” I owe it to her to speak for her and I intend on having justice for her! This lady took the surveys and really liked what she was doing and bragged about the points she had saved for a minor survey and she had enough to get the surgery! “She died trusting this group of thieves and the whole operation needs to be shut down and those running the show should be placed where those thieves Manifort and Cohen reside! It’s unfair that people are getting rich at Survey Junkie on the backs of patient people who trust them to be honest! “So much for honest!” “Honest they are not!” Please! If anyone is reading this report. Tell everyone that you suspect of even thinking about joining survey junkie. Stop them immediately and spread the word! I have an online support group petitioning against this company and we are gaining momentum and soon we will be exposing this company to the proper authorities who are taking surveys with this company as we speak! “Soon!” “It’s gonna be all over for the flunkie Junkie! And the right flunkies will be enjoying some time for theft in the proper Jails! Stay tuned folks!!!!!!
thanks for the information , easy to understand and straight forward
Survey Junkie has gone off the rails. You seldom get disqualified from a survey until you are at least ten minutes into it. After attempting every day for a month the closest I cam was a survey I spent 25 minutes on. The survey said I was finished but then I still got the notice that the survey was filled and I received three points. If you contact them through the help link they just send you a standard reply.
Survey junkie is a total waste of time. I have spent several hours doing surveys that never reached the end of the survey. I would get near the end of 10-20 minute surveys just to find out I was disqualified. Seems like a scam to me.
This is a scam and you would’ve known this if you actually tried to redeem your money. This site is 100% scam. They make you fill out several sites, some even without any reward, until you reach 1000 points and then they don’t let you redeem your money because you haven’t ‘verified’ your account. This problem wasn’t just with me, it was many several users and the support team doesn’t even respond to any of our emails. You are probably some loser who took money from Survey Junkie to write this crappy article. Get a life.
I have been on their site since Dec 15…
Their surveyor pays us pennies while Survey Junkie cashes in. The most I ever made on a survey was 150 points or $1.50. It all depends on your demographic profile. They primarily want married, with children, shopaholics, that purchase everything brand, immediately when put on market, go the movies when movie first released, etc. etc etc. You get the jest of what I am saying.
If you don’t fall into these categories your surveys are long, pay little, and take longer to get to the 1000 points or $10.00 mark to cash out. Period. The one good thing about them.. No lie, they have always paid me quickly. One time, it was within 4 hours of redeeming my points. Do not cash out on Friday won’t get money til Monday (direct deposit method into bank account) and do not contact support or complain… They don’t care.
The only time support contacted me back in 24 hours is when they locked me out of my account for 6 days ( I GOT NOT ONE SURVEY), then they lied and said there was an issue with my PayPal method. I never signed up for PayPal.. hell I don’t even have a PayPal Account. So when I threatened to delete my account, then the responded and surveys started coming up again.
It has taken me 45 days to make $109.98 . That is the equivalent of $2.44 a day. The people that pick strawberries and lettuce in California made more money per day than I did.
Keep in mind if you do not fit that general demographic, you wil never see surveys that are $1.00 -$5.35. Yes I got a $5.35 one yesterday but of course it filled up immediately.
This is a decent site at times. It pays in U.S. to your PayPal acct but only after you reach $20.00. The money goes right away which is good. When you don’t qualify for a survey they sometimes give you .2 or .3 cents for your time. However there has been AT LEAST 10 occasions where I have FULLY COMPLETED a survey and not been compensated. When contacting customer service they NEVER honour the compensation but instead simply reply with a STANDARD WORD FOR WORD generated response giving a number of BS reasons why you are not being paid. It is the response every time. Very, very frustrating. I figure they owe me about $40.00 just in the last 3 months alone. Arrgh !!!
there a scam to and there support is no help at all
What about taxed amount do I have to keep tract of any earnings through these sights
Hi Kris – You do, and any earnings will be taxable. But I’m guessing you’ll get a 1099 from the survey company at the end of the year, at least if the earnings exceed $600.
This survey is a scam it keeps repeating itself over and over does not let you go to the second leve
Everyone who has filed a complaint with the BBB (better business burrow) has received their payment. I watched a couple youtube videos by people who had to go farther than they should have to gotten paid. You WILL get paid if you pester them, the thing is most people won’t for a mere 10 dollars. That’s why they make you jump through hoops, so you give up. In my last email to them I told them I will be sending a complaint if I don’t receive payment to my paypal by monday.
This is false, I just made my profile for Survey Junkie and have made $50 just in the past week. I don’t know what you mean by only getting 1 or 2 surveys a week. I get so many throughout the day at least 20-30 surveys.
You clearly work for them, i have cashed out for alot, $10 at a time. Once you hit their point they dont give gift cards.. they have to talk to you on the phone, todo a survey i assume so they make that money… you fight, then they unlock paypal.. now your good for a payment or 2, THEN your only option is to give your personal bank account info to them to cash out again! This site is a scam, get $50 and walk away, cash out every $10 though. They dont need to call you when you’ve recieved several payments before to verify it is you.. they didnt care then they dont care now.. i want my $10 they owe and they can keep the .27 cents.. use Quick Thoughts instead, not advertising for em, BUT i have never had a problem getting my $10! You click a redeem link, it works.. no phone call, no personal bank crap.. survey junkie is a scam, and so are you for telling these people different.
I can’t even make the $10 dollars to get my money out. From now on they pay me ten cents a minute for my time. No more wasting my precious time,. No one should do a survey unless they are getting paid for their time and not whether they are qualified or not how stupid. I am so upset over the corporate greed that I will not buy any of the products they advertise.
Every Survey I have done has closed in the middle saying that it has “filled up.” and they give me 2 points for “trying.”
Survey Junkie is making millions at the expense of members. They pay an average 40 cents for a 25-30 min survey that If you took it on another panel it would have paid $2-$3 for it. Survey Junkie keeps the rest and if you happen to not get paid, it is impossible to get survey junkie support to even begin to think about a credit for their cheating partners. They have the worst customer service along with the Your Survey Panel. Survey Junkies $1 and 0.90 surveys are mostly by their partners Global Test Market and Ampirio (IpsoIsay) which ask you 10 minutes worth of demographics, lets you do 30% of a survey then say you are not qualified. You have wasted 30 min for nothing
I love Survey Junkie. I actually enjoy doing them. However, I hate it when I get over 80% of the survey done and you get to a page that is not working properly, which is what happened to me this morning.. Having spent many many years on computers, I do know that sometimes there are glitches. There is a page where you drag the circle to a scale below. Once you drag a circle is supposed to stay there until you drag another circle down to the scale. The circles would drag down but would fly right back into place. Neither would remain on the scale. So no opinion could be given.. Of course you could not progress to the end of the survey, because it kept an error message stuck to the page I and was completely stuck after doing 80% of the survey. This was frustrating. Time and money lost because of a page that wasn’t working properly!
I got cheated out of a 90 point survey. I completed a survey and then was diverted to some other website. I contacted Survey Junkie, but they ignored me. It’s not the money, it’s the principle. They are a bunch of crooks in my opinion.
You do surveys, get points into your account from those surveys completed, and then can’t redeem your money. Every time I give them my phone number to verify my account, and I entered the code that was given to me over the phone via automated message, I get a message on their website “We were unable to verify your identity. Please contact customer support.” This has happened several times even after they claim to have reset my verification attempts. They obviously do not want to pay me. SCAM!
survey junk is junk as soon as i signed up i got hundreds upon hundreds and still get scam calls to my phone day and night. they do sell your phone number out to everyone and they do it fast.
it is not legit.
they promise money they give points.
i know for a fact they gave my number out because i started getting scam calls as soon as i signed up and entered my cell phone number. yes survey junk is junk period.
beware its not work your privacy to sign up.
I joined Survey Junkie and completed aver 10,000. point. I requested to redeem the 10000 to Amazon Credit.
For the last two months I sent 5 or 6 emails to Survey Junkie inquiring about my $10.00 Amazon Credit. So far I have not received a reply.
I know they aren’t a scam. I earned $450 in almost 5 months. So it’s not a ton of money, but it’s good for someone who might want to earn a little extra.
I receive a lot of sorry something went went wrong try later. “PROBLEM” there is no later all I get is we see you did this survey before.
I signed up about a month ago and received several surveys per day. When I hit the $18.00 mark in my rewards, the surveys suddenly disappeared!! Keep going into my account to see if there are any but …always none! What is up with that??
Given the preponderance of negative experiences amongst Survey Junkie users, I do think it behoves the author – Jeff Rose?- to update his article to include this feedback or to contact Survey Junkie.
A preponderance of negative feedback from users may be because negative experiences generally tend to be more frequently reported than positive ones (chance to vent, opportunity to be heard etc). So the complaints do not of themselves prove the company is fraudulent or shoddy. Though it may well be either or both.
The similarity of negative exeriences does however provide a degree of corroboration and circumstantial evidence.
The company should becapproached and asked to give its side of the story.
Lots of poor and sick and elderly people no doubt are trying to scrape an extra bit of money to get by – turning to predatory scam sites which cannot be traced or held accountable. Let’s hear from Survey Junkie if they are legit.
Please, Jeff Rose, write a second article probing deeper into this and other similar companies. Put names to faces. Anonymity is a crucial part of their MO. Get Survey Junkie to make a statement.
They won’t let me redeem my points all of a sudden. I just started last month and have cashed out twice so I have tried not to let the point get too high and now they tell me there are confirmation problems, totally BS… they stopped giving me surveys 48 hours ago.
if they don’t pay. I am done.
I have had some of the same frustrating experiences mentioned above. Most of the time I get that the survey has filled up with people in my demographic. I am retired and signed up to get a little extra money. I was able to cash out twice and immediately get $25 Amazon vouchers each time. I’m really pleased with the service I’ve received from them whenever I’ve had questions.
Now I no longer get notifications that a survey is available. If I log in, I get a msg saying there are no surveys, try again in a couple of hours. I’ll just wait and see what happens.
This site is a scam. After spending a few days of my time I reached the $10 cashout amount. When I requested payment they denied it to me. So, I contact their customer service, and two days later they contact me back and say I was disqualified because of actively using multiple accounts. I have never used Survey Junkie before a couple days ago and there is absolutely no benefit to having two accounts, which I only have one of. As I was trying to prove it they completely deny my access to my account with the page saying “This request was blocked by the security rules”.After putting in so much time on the surveys I can tell you that this site is definitely not worth your time.
Not worth any of the time or effort. But here’s the email I sent to survey junkie:
I constantly spend time answering the questions asked and then it redirects me to another site to often ask the exact same questions only to be told that I do not qualify for the survey or that it’s now all of the sudden filled or some reason like that. Oh and when the site glitches it boots me off with no reward. I spent 10 minutes on a 20 minute survey yesterday only to be booted off with no compensation. I don’t appreciate my time being wasted & abused. This has been a frustrating experience not at all worth it. Thanks for the opportunity to make cents for my time however this is crap and it’s not worth it. One more thing, why in the hell do I CONSTANTLY have to input my DOB, zip code, gender and annual income? I put all of these answers in when I register, your site should cooperate with the survey companies so that this information is already put in. It states that the info is used to see which surveys I qualify for, so why is the info all the sudden a mystery?. I do not need nor want a reply I would appreciate no further contact from your company.
If they don’t pay me my points,I’ll quit this racket.
Survey Junkie is a scam, they will do everything they can not to give you points. They will make you complete entire surveys for 30 minutes and they say, “Sorry, you are not qualified” and give you only 3 points (btw, this equals 3 cents). Most of the surveys only pay out 20 points, which is the equivalent of 20 cents. I spent hours on here, had to contact them to get points I was promised, and still can’t redeem them even after verifying my identity and paypal. They just want someone to do a job for free. Don’t trust these articles – be smart. Just because someone wrote an article THAT THEY WERE PAID TO WRITE, doesn’t mean that the information they give is accurate.
I’ve been with SJ for 2 months now, have either completed or tried to complete numerous surveys each day. I now have 876 points or $8.76. That equates to way less than $1 per hour. A couple of times I spent over 15 minutes on a survey, pressed Finished and was told the survey was closed or I didn’t qualify, so I received no points. I’m done!
Thanks for the personal experience Sally.
So far for me no problems.I have cashed out my points 3-4 times without issue. Money goes instantly into my PayPal account. Sometimes it is hard to qualify for points but often you receive a token amount of .2 or .3 cents which is nice. I got no complaints so far.
I have been with Survey junkie for a year. They offered many surveys in the beginning and I was able to make some money. As the year progressed I was disqualified by 95% of the surveys. I still had the opportunity to make some money. Early this month they stopped offering surveys. The day after a payout!. I emailed them several times and they said they would send me surveys when I qualified. They didn’t have the courtesy to say I was banned from the site. I don’t know why. I enjoyed the site. Oh well. This was mentioned in the above article. They just drop you with no explanation.
I joined a few days ago and am having nothing but problems. I tried several times to verify my account to redeem points and they send a text but the redemption codes are never there. Then I tried to register my paypal email and the system says it’s invalid despite the fact that it was copied and pasted from my Paypal account. I am holding off on doing surveys until they correct the issues I am having with them.
I was on the site for several months… no issues at all(cashed in with no problem multiple times), then nothing! No surveys no notice that i was knocked off the site… 694 points lost. A few months later i just gave up and joined under a my other email address and VIOLA surveys abound! …until i try and cash out… they say i violated by having multiple accounts. Even though i had not earned a single point on the first account in months they accused me of trying to double up on earnings. Obviously they must have suspended my first account for whatever reason (they never said anything to me)… great customer service (sarcasm) since I answer everything % truthfully… believe me, my profile is terrible as far as qualifying for surveys – 50y.o., white male, no kids, not married…. If I were going to lie I’d start with my profile, so I’d get more surveys. Anyway, they canceled my acct and i lost another 1000+ points. Lousy customer service, accusations without telling you giving any specifics, and then just deleting your account when you ask why. It;s a very slow site in terms of how fast you can earn… many better options with a more professional staff backing them up… DON’T BOTHER!!
SURVEY JUNKIE WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I had written Survey Junkie explaining that many of the surveys did not give the points stated even after spending the time to take the complete survey. Given your explanation I said OK. But, then today I clicked on a survey. After a few qualifying questions it said, “Congratulations, you qualify for this survey.” I clicked on to complete the survey which said it would take 25 minutes to complete. After over an hour of answering service and product related questions I was almost ready to just give up when FINALLY I got the message that said, “Thank you for completing this survey. In the box below tell us what you thought about this survey.” I said something to the effect of, the survey was fine but it was way too long when I expected 25 minutes. When I clicked the DONE button then the message I got was, “Sorry you don’t qualify for this survey”. I was given 3 points instead of the 65 points promised. This is unexceptable and not a good use of my time.
OK, so either Survey Junkie is running a scam or the Survey Requesters are running a scam on Survey Junkie. Either way I now longer want to be a part of this fiasco.
I don’t know…but I use the app everyday during my spare time and in a couple days can make 10 dollars…Don’t see anything wrong with that…its pretty much free money

Thanks Paul!
I have been using Survey Junkie about a month now. Just recently I wanted to cash out send it to PayPal and it never arrived. I’ve contacted customer service and I have not heard back. I worked for that money. Extremely frustrating!
Thanks for the heads up Danielle.
