Hi Michael,

I am not working with TD but I am also working in a Self directed IRA company, which I think the account your are holding with TD is an IRA?

If that’s the case, TD can only received/ outbound transfer from other IRA account that is under your name. In fact, that’s required by the IRS.

In fact they are $6.95 and have been that way for quite a long time.

Outgoing transfers were difficult and I just found out that incoming transfers are IMPOSSIBLE. Why impossible? Because they say the ONLY way they’ll accept an incoming international money wire transfer is if the name on the account of the person sending the transfer is the SAME as the one that receives it. In other words, the ONLY person that can send me money from another country to me is me, myself and I. They further refuse to say why except that “this is our policy” because of “risk” and refuse to provide any person at TD Ameritrade that can answer for it.

I’m going to find some other brokerage firm that doesn’t behave like a government department.
